Subject: Changes to JTA Membership fees and process for renewing members,
and receiving JTA News.
( This changes works since year 2013 renewing membershipment )
The JTA recently set up a PayPal account, so from now (2013) on, paying
for annual renewal fees will be sent directly to
the JTA. You will not have to send them through your JTA teachers. This
will reduce the total renewal costs a bit, since it removes the extra processing
fees for routing the renewals through the teachers. Note that this is for
RENEWING members only. First-time new members will still need to be assisted
and sponsored by a JTA certified teacher.
This is how it works:
The membership year for JTA always runs from April 1 to March 31. Each year, the payment period for renewal will be the
last two weeks of March. During this time, please send your renewal fee
(amounts are listed below) directly to the JTA using the email address
indicated below. This is your responsibility if you wish to remain a JTA
member. The JTA or your teacher will NOT send an invoice to you.
Renewal fees are as follows (note that it includes the JTA membership fee
AND the PayPal fee for the transaction processing; PayPal will handle all
currency conversion):
*)- Renewing fee for Honka ( level 1 ), Koutouka ( level 2 ) and Shihan
( level 3 ) is yen 3,164 ( yen 3,000 for membership fee plus yen 164 for
PayPal fee*)
-Renewing fee for Kyoujyu ( level 4 ) is yen 5,245 ( yen 5,000 plus yen
245 for PayPal fee ).
Choose the fee for your CURRENT certification fee at the time of renewal, even if you are applying for exams later on.
Log in to your PayPal account. Select the "Send money" option, and use temari@mx5.alpha-web.ne.jp as the email address for who you are sending to. Choose Jpn Yen in the
currency menu, and enter the correct amount in Yen for your current membership
level (Be sure to select and enter the proper amount in Yen - NOT your
home currency). Select "Goods or Services". (after which you
will get a message drop down that says the seller (that is, JTA) will pay
the fee) You will be asked to enter or confirm your mailing address. You
can choose to enter "JTA membership" in the subject line of the
message that will sent to the JTA with your payment notice, as well as
a SHORT note in the comment field (such as your name and level, and membership
number). Then click "Send Money". You will receive a standard
receipt from PayPal.
Remember, from this year on this needs to be done during the last 2 weeks
of March, prior to April 1, or contact Ai if you have a problem that will
ause a delay.
Also remember that you must remain a continuous member if you wish to continue
taking certification exams. You cannot renew only in years you take exams.
If you do not renew, and have not contacted Ai to make arrangements, you
will be dropped from the JTA membership list. There is a large re-joining
fee if you want to come back as a member later on, so be sure to keep your
membership up to date.
When they receive your payment, the JTA will send a photocopy of your membership
card back to you, using the email that you indicated in the PayPal Payment.
The actual membership card will be be kept by the JTA until next after
the nex renewal. If you should happen to visit the JTA and need to show
proof of membership, please show the copy that was sent to you by email.
In addition, from now on the JTA News will be sent to you by email and
PDF file to your email address, as they are published. Please be sure to
watch the address you use for your renewal payment for your copies of JTA
news. Be sure to add the JTA email address (as above) to your address book
so that email from them is not routed to your SPAM mail, and be sure to
check for that.
Thank you, and if you have questions, we'll try to help,
Ai M./ Chidori Temari Group, JTA
